What ping would you get?

Measure the latency from your connection to our datacenter in Spain, where the servers run.

This is measured from your browser, so your in-game ping is usually the same or a few milliseconds lower. If you're on wifi, a cable will do better.

Frequently asked questions

How long until my server is ready?

It's automatic once you pay. A Minecraft server is usually ready in under a minute.

Can Bedrock players (console or mobile) join?

No. Our Minecraft servers are for Minecraft Java Edition, and Bedrock players can't join.

Can I install mods?

It depends on the plan. Vanilla is official Minecraft and doesn't support mods, but it does support datapacks, which go in the world folder. Forge and NeoForge do: upload the mods (.jar) to the mods folder over SFTP or with the panel's file manager. No mods are banned.

Which Minecraft version can I use?

On Vanilla you pick any official version from the panel's “Change Version” page. It doesn't update on its own, so your world never changes version unless you decide to. Forge is installed for Minecraft 1.20.1 and NeoForge for 1.21.8, and on both you pick the loader version from the panel.

Can I switch between Vanilla, Forge and NeoForge?

Not on the same server, since they are separate plans. You can take your world with you, though: download it and upload it to the new server.

How much RAM do I need?

On Vanilla, 2 GB is enough for a group of friends, and 3 to 4 GB for large groups or heavily explored worlds. On Forge and NeoForge, 4 GB for light modpacks and 6 GB for large ones.

How many players can join?

There's no per-plan limit. You set the maximum, and in practice RAM is what caps it.

Can I upload my own world or download it?

Yes. You can upload an existing world over SFTP or with the panel's file manager, and download it whenever you like, over SFTP or from your backup.

What can I configure from the panel?

On every plan, the game version and the Java version. NeoForge also has a server.properties editor for difficulty, PvP, game mode, whitelist and the other settings. On Vanilla and Forge you change those by editing server.properties in the file manager.

What do my players need to connect?

The same Minecraft version as the server and, on Forge and NeoForge, the same mods installed. The whitelist is optional.

How much disk space do I get?

It depends on the plan: Minecraft Vanilla (10 GB), Minecraft Forge (20 GB) and Minecraft NeoForge (20 GB). Backups don't count towards that space.

Are there backups?

Yes. Each server has one backup in the panel, which you can take whenever you like or schedule under “Schedules” (daily or weekly, for example). Each new backup replaces the previous one, and you can restore it yourself in one click. There are no automatic backups by default, so it's worth scheduling one.

Can I add more RAM or CPU later?

Yes, from your client area and without losing anything. Just restart the server to use the new resources. You can also scale RAM or CPU down if you don't need them.

Do I get SFTP access?

Yes, to all of your server's files. The connection details are in the panel.

Can I use my own domain or port?

No. The port is assigned automatically and you connect with an address like play.labarogames.com:port, ready from the start. We don't offer custom subdomains for now.

Does the server restart on its own? Can I schedule tasks?

It doesn't restart on its own: it only stops when you decide, except for occasional maintenance, which we announce. Under “Schedules” you can set up restarts, backups and commands whenever you like.

What happens if I don't renew?

You have 14 days of grace. 2 days after it expires the server is suspended, but keeps all its data. After 14 days it is deleted for good, backups included. If you cancel yourself, the server keeps running until the end of the paid period.
